Blue Bike Water Bottles & Cages

Think about where and how you ride: reinforced plastic works well for casual road and commuting, aluminum or stainless steel (around 50–60g) gives bendable durability for rough trails, and titanium (30–40g) or FACT carbon fiber (under 30g) shines when minimal weight matters for racing. Consider durability versus grams and whether a vinyl coating or welded joints will reduce rattles on rough roads.

Top-loading cages are best for full-triangle frames where you can reach straight down, while side-loading designs suit partial-triangle frames and full-suspension mountain bikes with tight access. Side loaders and oversized options are particularly handy if you run frame bags or need to stow large insulated bottles on bikepacking setups.

Yes. Oversized cages are designed to fit large bottles up to 40 oz—models like the King Cage Quick Cage offer vinyl-coated stainless construction and even velcro mounting for secure 24–40 oz bottle carriage. They help keep big insulated or Nalgene-style bottles stable on long tours and gravel trips.

If you're chasing grams, carbon cages make a noticeable difference—FACT carbon examples often weigh in the mid-20s grams, like the Specialized S‑Works Carbon Rib Cage III at about 27g. For everyday riding, titanium or aluminum options (roughly 35–60g) balance low weight with better durability on rough roads.

For frames lacking standard two-bolt mounts, velcro straps are a reliable solution, especially on carbon frames where drilling is not an option; some cages like the King Cage offer velcro-friendly mounts. Adjustable cages such as the Topeak Modula II also help when bottle diameter or space is tight, fitting 63–74mm bottles for flexible setup.
