White Bike Packs & Bags

Many riders start with a seat pack because it holds bulky, lightweight items like a sleeping bag or puffy jacket and keeps the bike streamlined for technical trails. Add a small frame bag later to carry heavier items like tools and food.

Seat packs work best for bulky, compressible gear such as sleeping bags and puffy jackets, and they help maintain a slim profile for tight trail riding. Some premium seat packs use holster systems with removable dry bags for easier packing and added weather protection.

Measure the space inside the triangle formed by the top tube, seat tube, and down tube and compare that to frame bag dimensions—sizes typically range from about 3 to 9 liters across extra-small to extra-large options. Frame bags are ideal for heavier items like food and water because they keep the center of gravity low and shouldn’t interfere with suspension or the drivetrain.

Handlebar bags come as one-piece integrated designs with built-in mounting hardware or as two-piece harness systems that accept removable bags, and brands like Two Wheel Gear offer both integrated handlebar and frame bag systems. Integrated bags are compact and simple, while harness setups let you swap gear more easily; always verify tire clearance and adequate hand space, particularly on drop-bar bikes.

Construction often uses waterproof polyurethane-coated nylon with welded seams for strong weather resistance, while other models rely on stitched seams and treated fabrics that trade weight for cost. Look for sealed seams, reinforced stress points, and weather-sealed zippers—Ortlieb is known for robust construction, and REI Co-op provides solid, value-minded options.
