Hometown Hero Snowboard delivers camber power and freeride float for all-terrain mastery

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve taken the Hometown Hero out on everything from deep powder to bulletproof groomers, and it doesn’t flinch. The directional camber feels stable and locked in on edge but still floats when you get into fresh snow. It’s got just enough taper to stay nimble in trees but feels balanced if you ride switch or flat base. Definitely my favorite freeride deck for variable terrain."

Who It’s For

Advanced All-Mountain and Freeride Riders:

The Hometown Hero is designed for riders who want to charge confidently across all conditions. It’s best for those who value stability and control at speed but still need quick response in trees, bowls, and technical terrain.

What It’s For

Powder, Groomers, and Variable Terrain:

With directional camber underfoot and a rockered nose, the Hometown Hero is built for storm days, freeride lines, and resort carving. Its tapered shape and Balanced Freeride Geometry keep it nimble without sacrificing stability, making it dependable on icy days and dreamy in fresh snow.

Why We Like It

Freeride Stability with All-Mountain Versatility:

Burton’s Family Tree Hometown Hero blends power, float, and control into one ride. The Super Fly II core keeps it light but strong, while 45˚ Carbon Highlights add torsional precision. A sintered WFO base keeps it fast in all conditions, and Infinite Ride ensures the flex and feel stay consistent season after season. It’s a freeride board that doubles as an everyday resort ripper.

Phantom Glide By DPS Skis

This snowboard is compatible with Phantom Glide, the long-lasting base treatment from DPS Skis. Backcountry technicians apply and UV-cure it before the board ships, so it arrives ready to ride with no waxing needed.

How It Works

Pair of skis curing under the DPS Phantom Glide UV station

Applied By Backcountry Techs
Backcountry technicians treat and UV-cure every board in the shop before it leaves the warehouse, so it arrives ready to ride with no setup required.

Glide That Outlasts Wax
Wax sits on top of the base and wears off in a few days. Phantom Glide bonds into the base, so glide stays fast and consistent from cold powder to spring slush.

No More Wax Days
Phantom Glide replaces scraping, ironing, and shop visits with a quick base cleaning using the Phantom Glide Base Care Kit. The formula is made without PFAS.
