Chromoly Steel is a high-strength steel alloy made from chromium and molybdenum. It is known for its durability and resistance to wear, making it ideal for demanding activities like ski mountaineering. The chromoly steel head of the ice axe ensures a strong and secure hold, providing you with the confidence needed when navigating challenging terrains.

Aircraft-grade Aluminum is a lightweight yet strong material that meets strict aerospace standards. Using this type of aluminum in the ice axe's shaft helps reduce overall weight without compromising strength. This is particularly beneficial for skiers and mountaineers who need to carry their gear over long distances, allowing for easier handling and less fatigue during your adventures.

Anodizing is a process that enhances the surface of aluminum, making it more durable and corrosion-resistant. An anodized ice axe shaft not only looks great but is also protected from the elements, ensuring that it withstands harsh outdoor conditions. This added durability means you can rely on your gear for longer periods without worrying about wear and tear.

The Type 1/B rating classifies outdoor gear based on its intended use and performance. An ice axe with this rating is designed for beginner to intermediate users, making it user-friendly and versatile for various conditions. This means it's a great choice for those who are still learning ski mountaineering skills, providing a balance of safety and performance.
