Great job Astral!

I love this PFD! It is just as comfortable as the green jacket and I feel like I have just as much dexterity paddling as well. What sets it apart from the green jacket is the storage. Believe it or not I am able to store just as much as I was able to in the green jacket and because there are more pockets my organization is much better. There was clearly a lot of thought and intention put into this design and it really shows. I hardly notice the extra flotation when paddling but during swim tests it is clearly more buoyant than most PFD’s I’ve used in the past. I recommend this vest to anyone who wants a little extra flotation and loves the green jacket design.

Best High flotation pfd!

I wore my new Indus on a high flow trip on the Colorado River for its maiden voyage. I have never been a fan of over the head entry pfd's, but the fit of the Indus makes it worth it. Lots of confidence in my whitewater space with the extra flotation and technical features. Thank you for making this pfd, the whitewater world has needed this!

Indus!

The most comfortable jacket I have ever had on! Really appreciate the lower chest profile.

Put it to the test, did not disappoint

Got worked in a juicy hole on South Yuba and swam out. Though not my finest moment, it did give me a chance to thoroughly test the new life jacket. Performance: Overall, I'm pretty stoked on the Indus. The extra float is noticeable. I definitely felt like I came back up to the surface faster and had an easier time getting my head above the aerated water. I got recirculated a few times and it's possible that the extra buoyancy was neutral or slightly negative in actually flushing out of the hole, but once I flushed, I was very happy for the extra floatation. As I got swept through the next hole and dipped under waves while swimming the rest of the rapid, it was meaningfully easier to catch a few much needed breaths of air. It's not a night and day difference, other life jackets to a good job too, but it does build in just a little extra margin, and I found that little bit to be meaningful when my lungs were screaming for air. This is defintely the only life jacket I'm grabbing for running hard whitewetar. I'm super happy with the upgrade. Fit: As for fit, the life jacket is comfortable and easy to move in. I like the fit better than I thought. It's bulkier than other safety vests, but Astral has done a good job at adding volume where it's least noticable. Storage: I was worried about storage, but I've found that it has plenty of space to stash my things. It might even pack better than my old life jacket.

The one that was promised!

I've been wearing the Indus for the past couple of weeks and have nothing but good things to say about it. Even with the Indus's additional flotation (compared to traditional kayaking PFDs), it feels incredibly low-profile while paddling. The Indus doesn't hinder my paddling, it floats me far better than other PFDs, and it holds my phone and wedding ring; there is nothing else I want or need a PFD to provide.

Buy this and be safer

A revolution in safety and design. In my opinion this is a must for every river enthusiast. Does not feel any bulkier than a green jacket when kayaking, and the additional float power is just one more step toward safer river days. Built perfectly. Astral for the win.

Im pretty disappointed in this PFD...I thought by now gear would fit for an average sized woman. This PFD slips right off when it is at its tightest, not even close to fitting like the green jacket. If you are 5'2 to 5'6 110-140 you will not fit in this.

Awesome PFD. Runs Small.

Been waiting for this release for awhile. Great construction and I can see this becoming my go-to PFD. There's only one negative, and it's that sizing does not seem to directly carry over from the Green Jacket. I'm a 43" Chest and have no problem with my M/L green jacket. The M/L Indus though.. It's a no go. While I can get it on and tighten it, there really isn't much room for adjustment and even fully loosened, it's very difficult to get off. (Tested with T-shirt, would not want to try with winter gear.) If you are on the upper end of a M/L measurement, I would suggest sizing up.

The One #BackToTheSurface

With a lot of stoke and love I have been wearing a version of this PFD in the testing process for over 3 years. Over 1 year now with the final and I am super happy with fit, function, and style. 33% more float. Comforting. Highly recommend trying one out!
