Forget throwing your back out lifting kayaks on and off your roof rack. Instead, attach the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier onto your Thule Crossbars and let the Hullavator Pro do the heavy lifting for you. This carrier uses gas-assisted struts to lift and lower 40-pounds of the kayak's weight, alleviating up to 90% of the heavy lifting required to load and unload your kayak.
How exactly does this ingenious system work? Well, Thule designed the Hullavator Pro with double-extending arms that lower the kayak up to 40-inches for faster loading and unloading. That means you can simply lower the each arm to your vehicle's side, secure your kayak, and use the assisted lifting mechanism to easily place the kayak onto your roof. The gas-assisted struts also work in reverse, keeping you from painstakingly lowering heavy kayaks off your roof rack.
This one-boat carrier fits most kayaks with its expanding, corrosion-resistant cradles. Eight padded attachment points provide a secure fit without scratching or damaging your favorite kayak. Included with this carrier are all necessary straps for carrying and attaching one kayak.
Note that the Hullavator Pro conveniently attaches to all Thule Crossbars, except for the Aeroblade Edge, and it's compatible with Thule's One Key System for convenient one-key locking with Thule racks and carriers.

The difference between getting out or not
I'm 5'2" with a 60 lb kayak and a tall vehicle. I hesitated in getting the hullavator for a couple.years because it's pricy and for me it would require an upgrade if my cross bars. Well I finally bit the bullet and made the purchase, I went with the square bars and even though the 139 was recommended on the site, based on my vehicle, I ordered the 150 because the hullavator needs 4 to 8 inches of overhang past the foot where it attaches to your vehicle side rails. The whole set up was easy to install myself. It didn't take long at all and I went slow to be sure to do it all to specifications. I could not be happier with the purchase as it means I can easily dash out for a paddle when the mood and the weather strikes without waiting on someone else to help me load and unload. If transport is your biggest barrier to getting on the water then just get the hullavator. I do have one complaint and it's more of an annoyance than anything. I had to search extensively to figure out if the racks and the hullavator came with a key to secure things. It appeared that the racks did but the hullavator did not so I went ahead and just ordered a 2 key set of the Thule one key (which was also hard to find on this site) Well I wish I would have gotten the 6 key set as the racks only came with a plastic toggle. Please Thule update your product descriptions to include whether or not your product includes a key lock (especially when your install directions imply that they do but they don't). It was disappointing to spend this much money and now still have to order extra bits and pieces. It would be a simple fix on your end.

Well Designed...

Great, fantastic, awesome kayak rack!
We bought this last month and finally just had it installed and it works perfectly and is so easy to use that we are thinking of getting a second one…Even though it is quite useful when going out on my own, the ease to use it makes it quite appealing for our second kayak!

Perfect for short single women with spaghetti arms
I put the Hullavator Pro on my Four Wheel Camper Ford f350 4WD vehicle. I am delighted with it. There is now way that I could manage the kayak myself without it given that I am only 5'5" and 125 pounds with spaghetti arms. I use a jumbo ladder with three steps and its perfect. Thanks for making such a quality product.

Great product, worth the money
After a fairly easy installation, I was amazed at how well this product works. I’ve never had the strength to lift my kayak onto J hooks on the top of my car by myself. With the Hullavator it’s so easy! Very fast for loading and unloading the boat and I feel confident it’s secure while I’m driving.

Love the Hullavator
A bit tricky for hubby and son to install (wish I had taken it to RackAttack) but it works great. Do wish the online info identified that locks are purchased separately.
