Kunai 2P Tent
Multi-day ski tours, overnight peak bagging missions, and extended backcountry forays are all well within the wheelhouse of the Nemo Equipment Kunai 2-Person 4-Season Tent. Thanks to the sturdy and secure pole layout, this tent is designed to withstand high winds, driving rain, and heavy snow. Dual guy lines attach directly to the inner canopy to ensure the tent remains upright when heavy winds sweep across camp, while a PU-coated ripstop nylon fly protects against relentless precipitation on summer or winter trips. Additionally, Nemo Equipment fashioned the Kunai with large overhead vents, which offer plenty of ventilation to keep the tent's inner walls dry when temperatures drop well below freezing. And with a trail weight of just four pounds, the Kunai is light enough for ambitious backpacking trips and committing winter pursuits.

Enjoying the Kunai 2P Tent
I bought my Nemo Kunai 2P tent last year early 2021. I've only had the opportunity to use it about 6 times but have really enjoyed it. i haven't used it in snow or heavy rain yet but I have used it in 25 mph winds on a mountain ridge in 15 degree weather. The winds were gusting and trying to depress the tent. It didn't care. I was comfortable and snug as a bug in a rug! I used the standard stakes with the tent and did put out two extra guy lines up wind and had no issues. Iv'e camped in 15-40 degree weather in it and found it very comfortable. So far i've not had any issues with condensation on inside of tent. Above 35 degree temperature I opened the tent vent and side as well as the vents in my sleeping bag as I started to get a little warm. The only condensation I found so far was on the outside of the tent in the form of tiny ice crystals or fine dew when above freezing. No condensation on inside of tent, seemed dry as a bone. It is easy to stuff in my pack and setup, nice to look at and solid and comfortable to use. Everything works as it should. Vestibule is a little small but i have the 2P tent so i bring stuff inside anyway. Zippers work great! They are smooth, easy to use, and seem to be good quality. I have used other tents before where the zippers get stuck or leak and that's no fun 3-4 days in. I am looking forward to my next adventure. The only concern i have is living in the south with with warmer humid weather. Not sure if it will be suitable for that yet...TBD

A must have winter item
This is the best winter tent I have owned. Robust tent poles means she's trusty in the wind, and absolutely bomber when guy lines are set. Small enough to carry anywhere, and that extra sailcloth layer in the tent is so key for staying warm. Set up is a breeze, which is really important for me in extreme environments. Venting options are also very well thought out. Lastly, as a photographer...the colors are oh so wonderful.

Very strong, good protection in winter storm
I had Kunai 2p since 2019 and it worked well for my hikes from Death Valley California to Cairngorms in Scotland. Two weeks ago had real test in 50 mph winds with sleet and snow at Lochnagar in Cairngorms, Scotland. Was serious storm and wind haven’t stopped all night, didn’t have much sleep, but tent stood up to extreme weather, all my stuff was dry. Next morning discovered that one pole was slightly bent. Not that I am looking for another experience like that, but it is good to know that tent will protect me in the future.

When the winds roar, this is your tent.
Before Covid, I took an early fall trip to Mongolia. At one point two guides took me to a remote mountain pass where we set up just as a front was moving in. They set up a kitchen tent, I set up my Kunai in banshee winds. It took me mere minutes, it took them an hour. By the next morning their tent was down. While I watched the inside of my tent bellow in and out like a pair of orange lungs, the Kunai didn't move an inch. By the time I woke up to a perfect sunrise, they had had to sleep in their van. Best tent I've ever bought, and now it's the only tent I use on my adventure trips. I won't use what's provided. This one, I trust.

Versatility at its best!
The Kunai is a 3/4 season tent, which means it has features from both conditions. The inner fabric has some sort of windows that can be opened to allow air flow, or closed during colder temperatures. The main door also has this feature. The main flaw of a mountaineering tent is that it easily becomes an oven inside down in the valley. The Kunai has solved this issue by focusing on multiple air flow possibilities. In mountaineering conditions, the zippers are closed and you become truly protected against the elements. The single yet roomy vestibule allows for gear storage as well as easy in/out when the storm hits. Guy-out cords are fixed at the inner fabric, but it's possible to take them out via the fly and use them for added protection. The Kunai has the ideal versatility for adventurers exploring different types of environments, from the high alpine zone to the dense forest. The Kunai has it all!!

Great Tent
I thought this tent last year and used it in the Colorado mountains outcoming in about 9,500 ft. First day was fairly decent weather and the tent to breathe extremely well that night, next day we got a heavy snowstorm and the tent held up amazing. That night it got down into the low 20s and all was good in our Nemo down sleeping bag.

Snow Camping Success
This was our first trip snow camping using the Kunai 3p in Australia (yes we had snow in May!). Plenty of room for the 2 of us and our gear inside the tent. We kept the top vents open and had no issues with condensation on the inside - dry as a bone! Easy to set up and take down. As others have said, not enough pegs supplied so purchased additional.

Great tent for winter backpacking
Took this out out in the winter and i slept great. The tent hold heat really well but will also allow you to vent. I am 5'7 and used a cot in the tent. It is a bit smaller than my 3 season tent but was easier to warm up.

Great tent for all styles of camping
I bought this tent for a climb up Mount Shasta but just used it for a spring backpacking trip with my son. I think it’s a great tent with minimal compromise for almost all kinds of camping. From mountaineering to backpacking and even overlanding for the minimalist.

I bought my Kunai tent last year for cold weather camping and I've had it out in 15-30 deg F with 20 MPH winds and it was awesome. But, wondering what I will be feeling in the humid south in warmer weather. How to be water proof and open at same time?

I'm looking for an all conditions tent, as I am planning an extended bikepacking trip that will find me in the mountains at some points and in heavy rain areas at other points. Would you recommend the Kunai 2P for this? If not, what would you suggest?

Hi! During summer time is it possible to only use the first layer? I’m in Canada and can’t find the footprint for the kunai, should I try and find an alternative? Thanks!
