Why We Like The Kaha 2 Low GTX Hiking Shoe
Back again, the HOKA Kaha 2 Low GTX still brings comfort and support to a lower-profile shoe for hiking on any terrain. HOKA's trademark cushioned outsole protects joints as we cover ground, while the nubuck leather upper with GORE-TEX membrane keeps feet dry through shallow crossings and rain storms. The Kaha's EVA-cushioned construction allows us to more comfortably ascend the trail and more quickly descend back for a celebratory beverage.

Hikers!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 8.5
Love my Hokas. After trying and enjoying so many Hoka models, why not give the Kaha a try. These fit the bill for a study shoe, comfort sole and GTX. Tested out on the trails and are mostly everything I was hoping for. Bought the men's 8.5 as the women's 10 was out of stock. A little bulkier than I was expecting, but after adjusting the laces, the shoes fits perfectly. I have enjoyed these for both the trails and city travel.

Odd Sizing
13 was HUGE but 12.5 was too small w my toes literally rubbing against the front of the toe box. Huge bummer because the quality felt really impressive.

Nope
I am a mail carrier and walk 12-18 miles per day. I have been searching for the perfect work shoe and this is absolutely not it. The top lace eyelets cut into the top of my foot causing pain. If I loosen them, my heal slides out as I walk. For the price, I expected A LOT more. I've tried these for a week, I just can't wear them. Now I have an expensive pair of shoes collecting dust in my closet.

I would buy this product again.
Excellent fit. Excellent traction. Escellent for hiking. Please consider having a wide (EE or EEE) toe option.

I would not buy online again.
I ordered online size 11-1/2 and received size 11. The 11 fit, just not as comfortable as I like. Returning is a pain, so if I bought again it would have to be from a brick and mortar store. Then you give up selection.

Great shoe, short lifespan
I'm on my fourth pair. I love how they feel. I can walk forever in them. The waterproofing is reliable. The all black color looks best. The only problem is that they wear out really fast. My last pair, which I bought August 10, 2023, is already worn out, both the tread and the inside cushioning just above the heel. I wear them several times a 2-5 times per week, walking maybe 20,000 steps per week, mostly on concrete sidewalks, but also on soft paths in the park. I wear a 14 in the Stinson and Bondi, a 13 in the Kaha and Recovery lines.

Runs smaller than every previous pair ive purchased
Bought the kaha 2 low after loving my two pairs of mid top gen 1 kahas. Have owned probably in the neighborhood of 50 pairs of size 13 hokas (arahi's, gaviota's, conquest's etc), over the years. 49 of them were spot on sizing. This pair of the low kaha 2's are the first pair that feels like a size 12. Mislabeled perhaps? Ive worn them for months trying to break them in but have to remove them after an hour or two due to "big toe squish". I will continue buying hokas but will probably not get the kaha 2 low again. Disappointing as it's an expensive shoe.

Good and bad
I've only worn the shoes a few times, and they are comfortable, but I have found 2 issues. First, and this is a common issue, is that the laces won't stay tied. I will have to replace them. Second, and more serious is a defect at a point where the rubberized toe cap meets the soft upper material above the big toe. That seam has started to separate and a small hole has appeared at the seam separates. At this price, and after only a few light uses, this is definitely a defect.
