Disappointing Quality and Dissmissive Customer Service
The Olympus 2 shoes promised comfort and durability, but my experience has been disappointing. After less than 40 miles, the cloth in the heel area began to rip, which was alarming given my previous shoe experiences with other brands (New Balance, Sketchers, Brooks), none of which had such quality concerns. Considering their premium price, Altra's dismissive response to my concerns about the premature wear further compounded my disappointment. I'm particularly dismayed because these shoes were among the best fitting I've tried. These shoes failed to meet my expectations for durability and customer service. I cannot recommend them until Altra decides to stand behind their product.

I love my via Olympus shoes, but they lack quality
Altra continues to make shoes with below quality materials & I am just about done with giving them another chance. I have been wearing Altra for about 4 years now...design, fit & form are the things I love about Altra, but I have never worn out a pair...they always fall apart: Torin, the outer-sole always came unglued from mid-sole/cushion, Olympus, the mid-sole/cushion would be exposed under the arch (not covered by the outer sole/vibram) and would tear up very early (after just a few hikes) & the final straw is the Via Olympus, my favorite shoe, the sock liner on the heel has started ripping out after just a couple months...the shoes look brand new everywhere else...I have lost patience...every next generation shoe feels like it is made with better quality, but something always falls apart, comes apart or rips out very early in the use (usually within 6-8 weeks).

Get these today
I loved my first pair and love the new version even more. I used these for marathon training for the longer run days with minimal speed but found them awesome on speed work days for more cushion

Comfy for walking and running but won't last
I use these for daily walking and causal running, purchased 3 months ago, put maybe 200-250 miles on them combined. They are extremely comfy even standing all day, but durability is non-existent. Heel liner is completely worn through in multiple areas, even with lace-lock. Altra claims this is normal wear and tear. Cannot justify the price paid per mile.

Increíble for wide feet!
This is my fourth pair of ultras, and by far my most favorite. The towel box is the widest, and the cushioning is responsive, but stable. I run a combination of road and Trail, and have yet to have an issue or I regret leaving the house in these shoes.

These shoes changed my life!!
I've tried finding comfortable shoes for years with no success other than Birkenstocks, and a friend of mind suggested zero drop shoes. I found that Altra has those shoes so I bought a pair and will never wear anything else in the future!! Wide toe box so your toes move. Its helped my feet and back tremendously!!

Running on a cloud on long runs
Having run in the torin 7, I needed a little more cushion for long runs. As a heavier person, these fit the bill while continuing to let my toes splay while running.

Love these! Continue to love all the Altra options
Being a heavier runner, the extra cushion is necessary for the road miles leading up to an ultra. Love these for my long road runs throughout the week.

I would buy this shoe again and again!
This shoe is the most comfortable shoe ever. I have tried several models but this one beats them all. I have two arthritic knees and because of the rocker sole I can walk faster with reduced pain! Thank you Altra!!!!!!!!!

Max Cushion Done Right
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who tried the Via 1 and was left wanting a softer underfoot feel, the Via 2 delivers exactly what I was hoping for. It has the same spacious fit as the original, just with a noticeably plusher midsole and insert. These are my go-to for long runs & easy recovery miles, and I don't see that changing any time soon!
